Rules of Engagement (ROE):
SAFETY:
- There are safety zones walled off from the field. While in the safety zones, guns are to be on safety, mag out, and chamber cleared. Gun socks or barrel plugs are required in safety zones. There is absolutely no firing of weapons in the safety areas! *Taking off your eye protection in the safety zones is done AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! It is always possible that someone could be not following the safety zone rules and cause you injury. It is highly recommend that you have your eye protection on AT ALL TIMES!
- The personal protective equipment required for the battle field:
- Full seal goggles that meet ANSI / ISEA Z87.1 High Impact Requirements.(Get goggles that are specifically made for airsoft.)
- Full face protection (minimum of a baklava or scarf)
- THESE ITEMS MUST ME WORN PROPERLY AT ALL TIMES ON THE BATTLEFIELD! Even if you take your goggles off for a second to clean or adjust them, you run a major risk of serious eye injury. Same goes for face protection.
- No blind firing. You must always be able to see your target.
- All devices, smoke grenades, sound and projectile grenades ARE ALLOWED on the battlefield AS LONG AS they are purchased from LEGITIMATE AIRSOFT SUPPLIERS and are NOT HOMEMADE. All devices must be professionally made and deemed airsoft safe.
- Melee weapons must be of soft material and used with caution.
- No real weapons on the field. If you normally keep a weapon on you, please leave it locked away in your vehicle. As airsoft weapons have become visually realistic and in many cases the same weight, it leaves the possibility of an accident.
- Fighting will not be tolerated. You will be removed from the field immediately and permanently banned.
Minimum Engagement Distance: (MED)
All guns must be cronographed before each game and .20g or .25g BBs must be used.
.20 BB MED 0-300fps: 5feet all fire modes; 301-350fps: 10feet all fire modes; 351-400fps: 20feet all fire modes; 401-500fps 100feet semi auto only; 501-550fps 100feet bolt action only
.25 BB MED 0-270fps: 5feet all fire modes; 271-310fps: 10feet all fire modes; 311-350fps: 20feet all fire modes; 351-450fps 100feet semi auto only; 451-500fps 100feet bolt action only
Night Game Play:
- You must have a flashlight attached to your gun OR a tracer(all glowing BBs, no mixtures.)
- If you are using a flashlight, the flashlight must be on when firing.
- A red light in place of a dead rag is recommended. (Reveal red light when hit.)
- Led IFF (Identifier Friend Foe) are available to buy or rent.
Integrity and Etiquette:
- Airsoft requires an honor system. Purposeful cheating will not be tolerated. Remember, cheating is a lot more obvious than you think.
- The most common offense is not calling your hits. It's every simple, if you get hit, call it. Not doing so ruins the fun of the game for everyone else, and therefore, preventing cheating will be taken very seriously.
- The first offense that can be proven or validated will result in you sitting out for a game
- The second offense that can be proven or validated will result in you being asked to leave the event.
- If you continue to be a problem at events, you will be banned from the field.
- Please, please, please don't make us have to use this disciplinary system. It's cheesy and has the feel of babysitting. It's awkward for everyone.
- Make sure to pay attention to the game play rules of the events you are attending. Different games or events have different rules. Try to keep up to date so that you don't unintentionally break rules, thereby hurting the integrity of the game play. This will make it more fun for everyone.
If you are 500fps , make sure to have a CQB weapon on you.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION AS IT IS VERY IMPORTANT PERTAINING TO ROE!!! :
REMEMBER!: No one will be out on the field with measuring tape settling disputes. It is expected of you to follow this Minimum Engagement (M.E.) guide to the best of your ability, while also understanding it is not a perfect science.
M.E. rules have the ability to be a major source of contention. So far we haven't had any issues with M.E. disputes due to the awesome respect this community has for each other. We would like to keep it that way. Here are some points to remember:
M.E. rules have the ability to be a major source of contention. So far we haven't had any issues with M.E. disputes due to the awesome respect this community has for each other. We would like to keep it that way. Here are some points to remember:
- There may be times where these rules are accidentally broken. For example, you may startle someone by sneaking up on them or suddenly meeting them around a corner. This may result in a M.E. infraction. THIS IS NOT WORTH ARGUING OVER!!!!! If you are the one getting shot in this scenario, have patience. These situations are just part of the game. It happens. Anyone who has played this game long enough has been full auto blasted short range. If you are the shooter in this scenario, apologize and call a hit on yourself. Then you move on and enjoy the game.
- Feeding off the point of "patience".... remember, all skill levels are out on the field. While this is second nature to those who have been playing a long time, it's not to newer players. Keep your cool and help them catch up. New players are VERY important to this sport.
- Remember that people are guessing/estimating in their mind when evaluating distance. It's not a perfect science, so lets not get nit picky. If you witness an OBVIOUS M.E. infraction, RESPECTFULLY talk to the offender. If you feel that it is being done on purpose and without regard, inform one of the field owners.
